Gaildal er en dal, der strækker sig fra Osttirol til Kärnten. Den begynder i Kartitsch og slutter ved Villach. Gaildal danner hydrogeografisk set ingen enhed: Den overvejende del af dalen afvandes mod øst af Gail, hvor den i landsbyen Maria Gail munder ud i Drau; den vestligste del af dalen afvandes derimod af Gailbach mod vest. Kartitscher Sattel er i denne forbindelse dalvanddeler.
