Tidligere var Sankt-Gorik Pladsen omgivet af arme fra Zenne og dannede således Sankt-Gorik Øen, også kaldet Store Ø. De overdækkede Sankt-Gorikshaller stammer fra 1874, og indtil 1970'erne blev der afholdt et meget populært marked.
Gå til venstre gennem koetsporet fra restauranten Ô Lion d'Or, et postrelais fra det 17de århundrede. På gården opdager du en rekonstruktion af den tidligere Zennearm, som adskilte de to øer fra hinanden (floden strømmer ikke der længere!).
