La place Saint-Géry était autrefois entourée par les bras de la Senne, formant ainsi l’Ile Saint-Géry, aussi appelée Grande Ile.
Le bâtiment des Halles date de1874. Il abritait jusque dans les années ‘70 un marché très populaire.
Arrivé devant les Halles, sur votre gauche, passez la porte cochère du restaurant Ô Lion d'Or, ancien relais de poste du 17ème siècle. Dans la cour, vous découvrez la reconstitution d’un ancien bras de la Senne qui séparait les deux îles (la rivière n’y coule plus!).
