Description

Fra området omkring Eynatten er der fund kendt, der går tilbage til stenalderen, og man formoder også romersk beboelse i denne region. Den første skriftlige omtale er fra 1213. Talrige keramikfamilier bosatte sig i Eynatten mellem 1500 og 1700, og sørgede for økonomisk aktivitet.

Indtil ophævelsen af hertugdømmet Limburg hørte Eynatten under den Limburgske højbank Walhorn. Ligesom resten af hertugdømmet blev Eynatten ved annekteringen af de sydlige Nederlande af den franske republik i 1795 en del af det dengang dannede Ourthe-departement. I 1815 blev det preussisk, senere tysk, for at blive annekteret af Belgien i 1920. I 1977 blev den selvstændige kommune Eynatten lagt ind under fusionskommunen Raeren.
