Kalmthout er en by og Kempenske kommune i Belgien i provinsen Antwerpen. Kommunen tilhører valgkredsen Brecht og den retteretlige kreds Kapellen. Kalmthout var tidligere sammen med Essen og Roosendaal en del af sognets Nispen og dannede senere sammen med Essen og Tongerloos Huijbergen en herlighed. Denne herlighed blev i 1157 givet til Tongerlo Kloster af Arnold af Brabant. På grund af faren fra ulve tillod biskop af Liège Kalmthoutenarne i 1338 at holde et dåbsfartøj i deres kapel, så de ikke skulle tage nyfødte babyer til Nispen. I 1513 blev Kalmthout en selvstændig sogn.
