Treignes er en valls landsby beliggende ved floden Viroin og tæt på den franske grænse i kommunen Viroinval, provinsen Namur og arrondissementet Philippeville. Indtil 1. januar 1977 var det en selvstændig kommune. I den gallo-romerske tid udviklede der sig her, ikke langt fra den vigtige vej fra Köln til St. Quintin, et blomstrende netværk af villaer, fæstninger og templer. I Treignes findes en storskalagravnet gallo-romersk villa eller pars urbana som hovedbygning af mindst 8 bygninger på et areal af 6 ha. Denne villa af basilika-typen ligger i udkanten af landsbyen ved Rue des Bruyères med udsigt til de fire verdenshjørner over det kuperede, skovklædte område.
