Villers, en lille landsby i Condrusian, som kan trækkes tilbage til den neolithiske periode, havde sin første udvikling i romersk tid. Faktisk lå landsbyen tæt på den romerske vej, der forbinder Tongeren med Arlon. Det er denne romerske indflydelse, der giver den sit navn. Toponymet Villers (faktisk Vilé) kommer fra det latinske "villare", der stammer fra ordet villa. Det refererer først til et stykke land afhængig af en villa, derefter successivt til en gård, et lille samfund og en landsby.
