Siden 1986 har De Kruiderie været et af Loca Laboras sociale beskæftigelsesinitiativer. Det er det første projekt for personer, der ikke kan komme ind på arbejdsmarkedet. De Kruiderie er gået fra at være en økologisk grøntsagsgård til en af de mest interessante planteskole for aromatiske planter i Belgien, med en unik dyrkning af friske urter, friske krydderurter og lokale planter.
