Charles Van der Cruyssen, abbed for den i 1926 genbesatte kloster Orval, og Thomas Louis Heylen, biskop af Namur, grundlagde i 1934 i to priorater i Sorée, Gesves, og Saint-Gérard, Mettet, sammen med en gruppe postulantesser Société des Bernardines Réparatrices som svar på encyklikaen Miserentissimus Redemptor fra pave Pius XI. Foreningen, fra 1936 congregation, levede fra 1939 efter cistercienserriten og fejrede i 1941 den højtidelige professions af syv nonner. I 1961 flyttede fællesskabet fra Sorée til Brialmont i Tilff, syd for Liège. Klosteret Notre Dame de Brialmont blev ophøjet til kloster og blev i 1975 officielt optaget i cistercienserordenen af Den Strenge Observans. I 1976 flyttede fællesskabet fra Saint-Gérard også til Brialmont. Pave Johannes Paul II besøgte klosteret i maj 1985. Klosteret sørger primært for sin underhold ved hjælp af egen champignonproduktion.
