Vidste du, at restaurantet 't Patijntje allerede var et kendt sted i begyndelsen af det 20. århundrede? Under Første Verdenskrig blev det besøgt af talrige tyske soldater og flamske "deernen". Restauranten havde dengang også et intimt møbleret værelse, som regelmæssigt blev brugt af løjtnant Kurt Wettstein til at beskæftige sig med kærligheden der.
