Det kongelige slot Ardenne, beliggende i Houyet, 15 km fra Dinant, er et luksushotel åbnet i 1891, der lukkede definitivt i 1949. Efterladt til forfald blev det ødelagt af en brand i 1968, og dets ruiner blev jævnet med jorden i 1972. I 1837 købte Leopold I det, der blev til Domaine d'Ardenne. I 1840 fik han bygget et lystslot i Ciergnon til dronning Louise-Marie. Dette slot er stadig i dag kongelig residens. På Domaine d'Ardenne i Houyet købte kong Leopold I den store landejendom fra familien Orban for at gøre den til sin jagtpavillon. I 1843 beordrede han bygningen af Château du Rocher på domenet i Houyet. I 1865 efterfulgte Leopold II sin far og fik bygget Château d'Ardenne fra 1874 til 1891 på stedet for jagtpavillonen, der oprindeligt var købt af sin far, ifølge arkitekten Alphonse Balats planer.
