Oprindeligt tilhørende det samme område som Opgrimbie, blev det sandsynligvis adskilt derfra i det 9. eller 10. århundrede og blev mere eller mindre en del af Mechelen ved Maas, selvom det dannede et selvstændigt kvarter med en årligt valgt borgmester. Efter at det ancien régime blev afskaffet, blev det en del af kommunen Mechelen ved Maas, for i 1851 at blive tilføjet Opgrimbie. I kirkelig henseende tilsluttede Daalgrimbie sig allerede i 1842 Sankt Kristoffer Menighed i Opgrimbie.
