Alle disse gader på grænsen mellem Schaarbeek og Sint-Joost blev anlagt i 1843 på jorden af et tidligere Bruxelles gudshus og fik en ret ensartet neoklassisk bebyggelse. Den venstre side af Postgaden består delvist af garager, haveindgange, bagdøre og tjenesteboliger til de finere herskabsboliger langs Koningsgaden.
Huset nr. 11 har hvide og grønne faiencefliser og bærer inskriptionen ‘In den ouden Martiko’ med en fremstilling af en chimpanse, der svinger sig i en gren. ‘Martiko’ er en variant af den brabantske ‘metteko’, et skældsord for en bagward abe, tosse.
