Station Stekene lå langs jernbanelinje 77, denne jernbanelinje gik fra Sint-Gillis-Waas til Zelzate. I Sint-Gillis-Waas sluttede linjen sig til jernbanelinje 54 Mechelen-Terneuzen, i Moerbeke til den tidligere jernbanelinje 77A til Lokeren og i Zelzate til jernbanelinje 55 Gent-Terneuzen, den tidligere jernbanelinje 55A Zelzate - Eeklo og til jernbanelinje 204 til Gent-Dampoort. I dag er hele linjen nedlagt. I den tidligere stationbygning i Stekene (1870), der blev renoveret i 1992, har lokalhistorisk forening D’Euzie fundet sit hjem. Årligt arrangerer foreningen i lokalerne på Museum Oud-Station to tematutstillinger vedrørende Stekene og de delkommuner Kemzeke og Klein Sinaai.
