De flyver tusindvis af kilometer fra det høje nord til lavlandet ved kysten, for så at tage tilbage til polarcirklen for at yngle i foråret. Du kan blandt andet møde de arktiske gæs - også kaldet 'frostgæs' - i dette naturområde, Uitkerkse Polder.
