I 1588 grundlagde JB Du Bois de Fiennes et kapel i sin slot, viet til Sankt Fiacre. Sankt Fiacre er den beskytterhelgen for gartnere.
Det var dog først i 1676, at beboerne kunne deltage i messe og modtage sakramenterne dåb og ægteskab. I 1718 bosatte en præst sig i Membre, efterfulgt af en præst i 1853.
Det tidligere kapel, omgivet af kirkegården, blev revet ned i 1888 og erstattet af den nuværende kirke.
Et iøjnefaldende træk er orglet bygget af Georg Westenfelder, et af de bedste i sin tid. Organ koncerter gives stadig.
