Altdorf er en historisk og statistisk by og en kommune i den schweiziske kanton Uri. Det er også hovedstaden i Uri.
Kommunen dækker et område på 10,21 kvadratkilometer og ligger cirka 2 kilometer syd for mundingen af Reuss, som strømmer ind i Lake Lucerne, her kaldet Urnersee. Byen Altdorf ligger i en højde af 458 meter over havets overflade på den højre, østlige bred af Reuss, et fladt, alluviale land med op til 2 kilometer i diameter mellem ellers stejle og høje alpine bjerge på omkring 3.000 meters højde, men kommunen dækker også det alpine græsningslandskab Eggbergen omkring 1.000 meter over Altdorf.
