Large Hadron Collider er verdens største og højeste energipartikelaccelerator. Den blev bygget af den Europæiske Organisation for Nuklear Forskning mellem 1998 og 2008 i samarbejde med over 10.000 forskere og hundreder af universiteter og laboratoriumer samt mere end 100 lande. Den ligger i en tunnel, der er 27 kilometer i omkreds og så dyb som 175 meter under grænsen mellem Frankrig og Schweiz nær Genève.
