Reichenbach slot ligger i Zollikofen, cirka 5 kilometer nord for Bern.
Slottet blev grundlagt som en middelalderbefæstning, sandsynligvis bygget på stedet for en tidligere romersk befæstning, ved floden Aar. Den middelalderlige borg blev senere genopbygget i barokstil. Det er et schweizisk kulturarvssted af national betydning.
For omkring 14.000 år siden sluttede istiden. I løbet af istiden var området dækket af op til 350 meter tykke iskapper. De relativt bløde sandsten og kalkstensformationer nord for Bern blev eroderet af Aar-floden. Over tusinder af år har Aar udskåret løkker i terrænet og ændret retning. I området under slottet ændrede floden retning med 180 grader. Dette skabte et lidt forhøjet sted, som gav et godt observationspunkt op og ned ad floden.
