Denne forstad til Berlin blev berømt i 1906 af en arbejdsløs skomager ved navn Wilhelm Voig. Han tog en kaptajnsfrakke og en kasket på og beordrede en gruppe soldater til at følge ham til rådhuset. På rådhuset bad han om kommunens kasse med 4000 mark, og han fik det. Han blev senere anholdt, men kejser Wilhelm af Tyskland benådede ham, fordi han blev en slags tysk Robin Hood.
