Ellrich er den nordligste by i fristaten Thüringen. Den ligger i Landkreis Nordhausen ved den sydlige kant af Harzen og har efter indbyggertal status som en lille by.
Byen Ellrich ligger ved Zorge, i umiddelbar nærhed af grænsen til Niedersachsen. Bydelen Sülzhayn ligger cirka tre kilometer nordøst for byens kerne i skovrig beliggenhed. Der er adskillige sanatorier og pensionater, der delvist ligger i skoven.
