Området af kommunen Weischlitz ligger i den vestlige del af Vogtlandkreis og i den saksiske del af det historiske Vogtland. Geografisk set ligger stedet i centrum af naturraummet Vogtland, i et skovklædt bakkelandskab med marker og enge, i den yderste sydvestlige del af Fri staten Sachsen, grænsende op til Bayern og Thüringen. Gennem bydelene Kürbitz og Weischlitz flyder, efter at have forladt Pirk-dæmningen, den Hvide Elster. Denne opdeler hovedbyen Weischlitz i de matrikulerede områder Unterweischlitz og Oberweischlitz med bebyggelsen Rosenberg.
Som følge af DDR's grænsebeskyttelse blev følgende steder ødelagt: Markusgrün, Schwarzenreuth og Stöckigt. Ramoldsreuth blev ødelagt i forbindelse med byggeriet af Dröda-dæmningen.
