Brackel Kommune ligger i den nordlige til østlige kant af naturområdet Lüneburger Heide. Den ligger mellem Hanstedt og Hittfeld med egen afkørsel fra motorvej A7 i bydelen Thieshope.
Brackel er en del af Hanstedt samkommune og grænser landskabeligt mod syd til landskabsbeskyttelsesområdet Garlstorfer Wald og andre omgivelser.
