Hovedbyen, en dobbeltby bestående af Reistenhausen og Fechenbach, ligger ved Main og er 13 km fra Miltenberg og 18 km fra Wertheim. I Main mellem Collenberg og Freudenberg ligger landegrænsen mellem Bayern og Baden-Württemberg. Det topografisk højeste punkt i kommunen ligger med 497 m over NHN på Geiersberg nordvest for Reistenhausen, det laveste ligger i Main på 124,5 m over NHN. Den Franske Maria Vej går gennem Collenberg.
