Bydelen er præget af små gader og store gårde. Dens hovedsageligt landbrugsmæssige brug giver en atmosfære af en lille, idyllisk landsby. På trods af oversvømmelsesrisikoen om foråret er Himmelgeist en ret dyr bydel, hvis huslejer ligger langt over byens gennemsnit.
