Spandau er den femte forvaltningsområde i Berlin og havde 245.197 indbyggere pr. 31. december 2019. Store dele af området ligger langs Havel. Spandau er kendt for sine skov- og vandarealer.
Den nuværende Berliner bydel blev dannet i 1920 i forbindelse med dannelsen af Stor-Berlin fra området omkring den allerede i 1232 nævnte by Spandau og flere omliggende kommuner og godskommuner.
