Rüttenscheid er en bydel i byen Essen. Beliggende syd for centrum grænser den op til bydelene Holsterhausen, Margarethenhöhe, Bredeney, Stadtwald, Bergerhausen, Huttrop og til det sydlige kvarter. Grænserne for Rüttenscheid strækker sig mod nord fra Albrechtstraße over Kahrstraße, videre over Witteringstraße til Rellinghauser Straße. I øst langs Rellinghauser Straße indtil A 52. Derfra langs A 52, inklusive det erhvervsområde Langenbrahm, som ligger syd for motorvejen, til slutningen af Grugapark. Mod vest danner Külshammerweg/Virchowstraße grænsen til Krawehlstraße/Brunostraße.
