Göttingen Kommune er den sydligste kommune i Niedersachsen og inkluderer byen Göttingen som et regionalt center. Den blev dannet den 1. november 2016 gennem fusionen af den tidligere Göttingen kommune med Osterode kommune ved Harz og har omkring 330.000 indbyggere på et areal på 1.753,41 km². Hovedbyen er Göttingen, som bevarede sin særlige status i henhold til den niedersachsiske kommunalforfatningslov.
I Göttingen kommune ligger tre steder på UNESCOs verdensarvsliste, nemlig Oberharzer vandforvaltning, klosteret Walkenried, Wiesenbeker dammen og Ernst-August-stollen.
