Saarbrücken er hovedstaden i den tyske delstat Saarland. Byen ved Saar har 179.315 indbyggere og et areal på 167,07 km². Universitetsbyen er det politiske, økonomiske og kulturelle centrum i Saarland.
Saarbrücken blev først nævnt i 999. Alte Brücke, den ældste bro på dette sted, stammer fra 1547. Den stadig eksisterende bro forbinder det oprindelige Saarbrücken på venstre bred med St. Johann på højre, bydelen som Saarbrücken blev sammenlagt med i 1909.
