Den ældste del af kirken, sakristiet, stammer fra 1230. Fagbyggeri og tårnet stammer fra 1600. Tårnflaget blev skudt ned af briterne i deres sejrstrang. Først siden 1980 har tårnet haft et nyt vejrhane. Området blev i november 1945 overdraget til den russiske besættelsesmagt af briterne og har siden tilhørt Mecklenburg. I 1990 blev de 2 gamle klokker udskiftet med en ny. De 2 gamle klokker har fået plads i kirken.
