Lorch ligger i dalen ved Rems, en højre biflod til Neckar mellem Schwäbisch Gmünd mod øst og Schorndorf mod vest. Nord for Lorch ligger Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald og syd for Schwäbische Alb. Lorch er medlem af Naturpark Schwäbisch-Fränkischer Wald og ligger langs Limes-vandreruten for Schwäbischer Albverein.
