Breyell er en bydel i Nettetal. Før 1970 var stedet sammen med Schaag en selvstændig kommune. Den gamle keltiske bosættelse (keltisk: Britogilum for "lysende vand") blev første gang nævnt skriftligt i det 12. århundrede. Breyell var i middelalderen et vigtigt handelssted. Dette skyldtes placeringens fordele i forhold til Köln - 's-Hertogenbosch, Aachen - Nijmegen. Desuden lå stedet ikke langt fra gamle lagre ved Maas (Havene Tegelen/Steyl og Venlo). I det 16. århundrede levede beboerne i Breyell ved siden af handel også af landbrug og godstransport.
