Løvenmonumentet ved Königsallee lige ved siden af Schiller-skolen er det kommunale krigsmonument for sønnerne fra byen Bochum, der faldt i Første Verdenskrig 1914–18.
Den overdimensionerede, dødeligt ramte stenløve med en pil, der stikker ud af højre side, brøler sin smerte mod "ærkefjenden" Frankrig og mindes symbolsk ofrene for denne Første Verdenskrig.
