Allerede i det 15. århundrede fandtes der et vandslot „Haus Beck“. Den nuværende bygning blev opført 1766 til 1771 af den mest kendte westfalske barokarkitekt Johann Conrad Schlaun som lystslot for Friedrich Florenz Raban von der Wenge.
I slutningen af det 18. århundrede drev friherre Clemens August von der Wenge, søn af bygherren, en brænderi på godset. Efter hans søn Friedrich Florens Raban von der Wenge's død arvede det efterkommere af hans søster Maria Franziska og hendes mand Maximilian Werner von Wolff-Metternich. I 1958 købte minedriftsselskabet Hibernia arealet med slotbygningen.
