Già nel XV secolo c'era un castello d'acqua "Haus Beck". L'edificio attuale fu costruito dal più famoso maestro barocco della Westfalia Johann Conrad Schlaun come castello di piacere per Friedrich Florenz Raban von der Wenge dal 1766 al 1771.
Alla fine del XVIII secolo, il barone Clemens August von der Wenge, figlio del committente, gestiva una fabbrica di liquori nella tenuta. Dopo la morte di suo figlio Friedrich Florenz Raban von der Wenge, gli ereditarono i discendenti di sua sorella Maria Franziska e di suo marito Maximilian Werner von Wolff-Metternich. Nel 1958, l'azienda mineraria Hibernia acquistò l'area con il palazzo.
