Brucher Talsperre tilhører kommunen Marienheide i Nordrhein-Westfalen og tjener, ud over højvandsregulering, til lavvandsforhøjelse og rekreation; campingpladser er tilgængelige. Operatør af Talsperre er Wupperverband. Det opstemmede vandløb er Brucher Bach. Gennem en 1280 m lang tunnel, der starter vest for Holzwipper, tilføres der også vand fra Wipper. På søen kan man dyrke aktiv rekreation som sejlads, svømning, bådsejlads mv.
