Det folksejede firma VEB Traktorenwerk Schönebeck, 1984 til 1990 VEB Traktoren- og Dieselmotorenwerk Schönebeck, var siden midten af 1960'erne den eneste traktorfabrikant i DDR.
Fabriksområdet lå i den østlige del af Schönebeck og strakte sig mod nord til Röthe, et flodområde langs Elben. For at huse de ekstra nødvendige arbejdere blev der siden 1960'erne bygget en fabriksby i den sydlige del af Schönebeck, omkring en kilometer vest for fabrikken, samt en betonbyggerby i 1980'erne.
