Stationsbygningen i Herzberg er et klassificeret jernbanestationsanlæg på jernbanestrækningen Northeim–Nordhausen og den herfra afgående jernbanestrækning til Seesen. De tidligere strækninger til Siebertal og Bleicherode, som begyndte her, er nedlagt. Herzberg er, sammen med stoppestedet Herzberg Schloß, en af de sidste to jernbanetilslutninger i byområdet af Herzberg am Harz.
Stationen ligger sydvest for Herzberg centrum direkte ved landevej 530; omkring en kilometer væk ligger motorvejene 243 og 27. I vest af stationen ligger bydelen Aue, i nord bydelen Kastanienplatz. Mod sydvest afgrænses skinnerne af Häxgraben.
