I slaget ved Lübeck mødtes den 6. november 1806 i den Fjerde Koalitionskrig tropper fra Preussen og Frankrig.
Efter slaget ved Jena og Auerstedt lykkedes det general Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher at trække sig tilbage med en styrke på omkring 10.000 mand fra Brandenburg i retning mod nordvest. I Mecklenburg tilsluttede enhederne fra hertug Karl August af Weimar sig, så Blüchers styrke til sidst omfattede cirka 21.000 soldater. Dog mangler der præcise oplysninger om størrelsen af Blüchers tropper på grund af de kaotiske forhold.
