Schloss Fürstenau er et vandborg ved Mümling i bydelen Steinbach i Michelstadt i Odenwald.
Slottet blev bygget i det 14. århundrede af Kurmainz for at beskytte det nærliggende kloster Steinbach og de omkringliggende godser mod Kurpfalz. Begivenheden kan vurderes som en konflikt mellem ærkebispedømmet og Pfalz som følge af overgangen af kloster Lorsch til Kurmainz i 1232. Bygningen på lejet grund af Schenkerne af Erbach, som var lenetagere for Pfalzgrafen, førte til komplikationer, der først blev løst med tildelingen af en borgleje og senere med pantsætningen til Erbach. Den tidligste omtale af borgen stammer fra 1310. I 1317 nævnes Schenk Eberhard VI. af Erbach som Mainz' borgmænd. Efter at borgen først var givet som et mainzisk len til Erbach, erhvervede Schenkerne Fürstenau i 1355, endeligt i 1454. Indtil da havde en mainzisk amtmand stadig residens på borgen.
