I en fortegnelse over tiende fra klosteret Hersfeld, der blev lavet mellem 881 og 899, nævnes Röblingen skriftligt første gang som den tiendepligtige by Rebiningi i Friesenfeld sammen med de andre tre steder med dette navn. I 932 blev Röblingen am See nævnt i et dokument fra Heinrich I. som seorebininga i pago friesonoueld i comitatu sigfridi.
