Via Balkhauser Weg kan bakken bestiges fra sydvesten (fra Nierenhof, længde 1,3 km og 50 meters højdifference) eller fra nordøst (fra dalen af floden Ruhr, længde 1,2 km og 90 meters højdifference). Den ægte top ligger højere og er markeret af en borgruin. Der ligger også en klatrepark på toppen af bakken.
