Cunnersdorf ligger sydøst for den saksiske hovedstad Dresden i den Saksiske Schweiz og i Elbsandsteingebirge. Det ligger i den østlige del af Landkreis Sächsische Schweiz-Osterzgebirge inden for landskabsskyddsområdet Saksiske Schweiz. Nord for Cunnersdorf, men uden for dens marker, hæver Gohrisch sig, og nordvest for Pfaffenstein, to tafelbjerge.
Waldhuf-dorfet ligger cirka i centrum af kommunen Gohrisch. Byens beliggenhed ligger mellem 270 og 320 m over havets overflade i en dalbund i Cunnersdorfer Bachs, som ovenfor Königstein-delen Hütten munder fra højre ind i Biela. Endnu i dag kan man i Cunnersdorf se nogle tre-fløjs landbrugsejendomme med sandstensfundament og bindingsværksetager, herunder den sydligt beliggende Forsthof med herresæde, økonomibygninger og en portbygning, som tilhørte familien von Friesen og sidst von Haebler.
