Portalet er et bjergpas i de centrale Pyrenæer og en grænseovergang ved den spansk-franske grænse i 1794 meters højde. Bjergpasset forbinder den franske Laruns i Vallée d'Ossau med den spanske Escarilla i Valle de Tena. Længere mod syd kan man nå Biescas og Sabiñánigo. Mod nord fører vejen til Pau. Passet ligger præcist på statsgrænsen mellem Spanien og Frankrig og på hovedryggen af Pyrenæerne, som her falder sammen med den europæiske vandskel mellem Atlanterhavet og Middelhavet. Fra passet har man god udsigt til Pic du Midi d'Ossau.
