Frías er en kommune og by i Spanien nord for provinsen Burgos, i det autonome område Castilla y León. Byen er hovedby i kommunen, der ligger i regionen Las Merindades, retskredsen Villarcayo. På bakken La Muela, tæt på den brede og vandrige flod Ebro, blev der dannet en strategisk post for denne flod, siden romertiden og især i middelalderen, som forbandt den kantabrisk kyst med den højslette, hvilket førte til den bemærkelsesværdige velstand i Frías og dens monumentale helhed.
