Ribera de Arriba er en asturisk kommune, hvis navn stammer fra, at den for det meste ligger ved bredden af Nalón-floden, som danner en stor dal der. Den grænser op til Oviedo mod nord og øst, til Mieres og Morcín mod syd og til Santo Adriano mod vest. Dens areal er ikke meget stort, idet det er på 22 km², og hovedbyen er Soto de Rey, som er dens vigtigste knudepunkter.
