Fuentelsaz er en spansk kommune, der tilhører provinsen Guadalajara i den autonome region Castilla-La Mancha. Den har et areal på 40,36 km² og en befolkning på 92 indbyggere. I år 2000 etablerede den Internationale Union for Geologiske Videnskaber sektionen og stratopegepunkten for den globale grænse for Aalenianet i Fuentelsaz' kommune, et verdensreferencer for denne kronostratigrafiske enhed af den geologiske tidsline.[3][4] Placeringen af «den gyldne søm», som markerer det præcise punkt for grænsen in situ, blev udført den 28. juli 2016 af præsidenten for den Internationale Stratigrafikommission.[5]
