Amposta er en spansk kommune og by i provinsen Tarragona, i den autonome region Catalonien. Den er hovedstad i Montsiá-regionen. Den ligger i en højde af 8 meter over havets overflade, ved bredden af floden Ebro, og kommunen har 21.115 indbyggere. Af dens økonomiske aktivitet er landbrug og tjenesteydelser fremtrædende. I de seneste år af det 20. århundrede opstod der en lille, men vigtig industriel sektor baseret på fødevareindustrien, papirindustrien og emballage, møbler samt en række små maskinværksteder.
