Lafat er en fransk kommune beliggende i Creuse-departementet i regionen Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Klimaet, der kendetegner kommunen, blev i 2010 kvalificeret som et "degraderet oceanisk klima fra Central- og Nordslætter", ifølge klassifikationen af klimatyper i Frankrig, som dengang omfattede otte store klimatyper i metropolen. I 2020 blev kommunen klassificeret som havende "ændret oceanisk klima" i den klassifikation, der er udarbejdet af Météo-France, som nu kun tæller fem store klimatyper i metropolen ved første øjekast. Det er et overgangsområde mellem det oceaniske klima, bjergklimaet og det semikontinentale klima. Temperaturforskellene mellem vinter og sommer stiger med afstanden fra havet. Nedbøren er lavere end ved kysten, undtagen nær skråningerne.
