Oye-Plage ligger cirka 7 miles øst for Calais, ved krydset mellem D219 og D940. Kommunen ligger næsten en mil fra Den Engelske Kanal.
Kommunen har gamle rødder. Navnet er første gang registreret som Ogia i det 8. århundrede, hvilket betyder 'ø', og blev brugt om de øer, der overlevede højvande.
